Ozzy Osbourne Tops Billboard's Album Sales Chart For First Time With 'Patient Number 9'

Ozzy Osbourne has finally earned his first No. 1 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart with his 13th solo studio album, Patient Number 9.

The album, released on September 9, sold 52,500 copies in the U.S. in the week ending September 15, according to Luminate.

Patient Number 9 also opens at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums, Top Current Album Sales, Tastemaker Albums and Vinyl Albums charts.

Out of the 52,500 Patient Number 9 copies sold in its debut week, physical sales comprise 44,500 and digital downloads comprise 8,000.

Seven of Osbourne's albums have appeared in the Top Album Sales chart's top 10, but this is the first time that one has climbed on top.

Ordinary Man (No. 2 in 2020), Scream (No. 4, 2010), Black Rain (No. 3, 2007), Down to Earth (No. 4, 2001), Ozzmosis (No. 4, 1995) and No More Tears (No. 7, 1991) are the other Top 10 albums.

NAV's Demons Protected by Angels, Jackson Wang's Magic Man, Kane Brown's Different Man, and TWICE's Between 1&2: 11th Mini Album follow Patient Number 9 on the Top Album Sales chart.

Billboard's Top Album Sales chart ranks the top-selling albums of the week based only on traditional album sales.

Elton John Recalls Dancing To 'Rock Around The Clock' With Queen Elizabeth II

In a series of commemorative posts on social media, Elton John recalled dancing With Queen Elizabeth II to the tune of Billy Haley's 1955 classic "Rock Around the Clock."

John, who had the privilege of playing at three of the queen's Jubilee celebrations, including a pre-recorded performance of "Your Song," said, "They were always joyous and humbling experiences. But it was the moments out of the public eye that I will most fondly remember her for; dancing together to 'Rock Around the Clock' at Windsor Castle or experiencing her great wit, warmth and humour first hand. She served with grace and dedication, and she will be sorely missed."

"Today I'll be joining the rest of the world in remembering Her Majesty The Queen. My own memories of her are filled with joy and admiration. The Queen honoured me with a CBE, a knighthood and the Companion of Honour," John wrote.

The 75-year-old musician shared a pair of images and a number of his favorite memories with the queen on Instagram to pay tribute to her majesty on the day of her funeral.

The photos were of him meeting the queen in 1970 and a more recent picture of them shaking hands.

Madonna Releases New Remix Of Global Dance Smash 'Hung Up'

Madonna recently released a new remix of her global dance smash "Hung Up" featuring Dominican rapper Tokischa, titled "Hung Up on Tokischa."

The collaboration first premiered with a live performance by the duo at Madonna's Pride event at Terminal 5 in New York in June celebrating her career-spanning remix collection, Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones.

Madonna recently discussed the making of "Hung Up" alongside Stuart Price on the "Song Exploder" podcast, giving fans a rare look into the creation of the chart-topping track.

The Queen of Pop also recently announced the long-awaited Erotica picture disc will finally see the light of day after a three-decade delay.

Her groundbreaking fifth studio album, Erotica, will celebrate its 30th anniversary on October 20. In 1992, the album debuted at the top of charts and sold more than six million copies.

To celebrate the anniversary, a limited edition 12" vinyl picture disc featuring the album's title track is set for release on October 21. It is available now for pre-order at https://m.lnk.to/EroticaPictureDisc.

Originally scheduled for release during the fall of 1992, the picture disc features a colorized version of the famous "toe sucking" photo taken from Madonna's "Sex" book, which was released the same week as the album.

However, the picture disc was unexpectedly cancelled just ahead of release, as the visual was considered too explicit for in-store display back then.

John Lennon's Killer Mark David Chapman Denied Parole For 12th Time

John Lennon's Killer Mark David Chapman Denied Parole For 12th Time

The man who killed John Lennon has been denied parole for a 12th time, according to New York corrections officials.

Mark David Chapman murdered the former Beatles member outside his Manhattan apartment on December 8, 1980. As Lennon walked into the archway of his apartment at The Dakota, Chapman shot Lennon from a few yards away with a Charter Arms Undercover .38 Special revolver. Lennon was hit four times from the back.

Chapman remained at the scene reading J.D. Salinger's novel "The Catcher in the Rye" until he was arrested by police.

Chapman, who said he struggled with depression and other mental health challenges throughout his life leading up to Lennon's killing, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in June 1981. He was sentenced two months later.

Chapman, 67, appeared before a parole board at the end of August, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

Chapman first became eligible for parole in 2000 after serving twenty years in prison. Under New York state law, he is required to have a parole hearing every two years from that year onward. Since that time, a three-member board has denied Chapman parole twelve times.

State officials have yet to release transcripts of Chapman's latest parole hearing. However, he has previously expressed his regret over killing Lennon.

Ozzy Osbourne Has Recorded Unreleased Songs With Taylor Hawkins

Ozzy Osbourne Has Recorded Unreleased Songs With Taylor Hawkins

Ozzy Osbourne's producer Andrew Watt revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone that Ozzy recorded several unreleased songs with late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Watt said he enlisted Hawkins and Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer Chad Smith for Ozzy's album Patient Number 9. Hawkins played drums on a number of tracks on the album, and the track "God Only Knows" features both drummers.

According to Watt, there are more recordings with Hawkins than what appear on the new album.

"There's a bunch of other stuff with Ozzy and Taylor, as well, that's going to be used for another thing," he said.

Ozzy dedicated his album Patient Number 9 to Hawkins after he sadly passed away unexpectedly in March.

The Patient Number 9 album, which arrived on September 9, features Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi, Zakk Wylde, Robert Trujillo, Mike McCready, Josh Homme, Duff McKagan and Chris Chaney among the other guest players alongside Hawkins and Smith.

Hawkins also has writing credits on the tracks "Parasite," "Mr. Darkness" and "God Only Knows."
