Ozzy Osbourne Hopes To Play Final Show But Says He's 'Not Going Up There In A F-ing Wheelchair'

Ozzy Osbourne Hopes To Play Final Show But Says He's 'Not Going Up There In A F-ing Wheelchair'

Rock icon Ozzy Osbourne, who announced his retirement from touring earlier this year, revealed in a recent interview with Rolling Stone UK that he still hopes to perform live again, even as he takes it "one day at a time" due to his ongoing health struggles.

"It's really knocked me about," Osbourne said about a tumor discovered in one of his vertebrae during a fourth spinal surgery. "The second surgery went drastically wrong and virtually left me crippled. I thought I'd be up and running after the second and third, but with the last one they put a f-ing rod in my spine. They found a tumor in one of the vertebrae, so they had to dig all that out too. It's pretty rough, man, and my balance is all f-ed up."

"I'm taking it one day at a time, and if I can perform again, I will," he added. "I'm not going to get up there and do a half-hearted Ozzy looking for sympathy. What's the f-ing point in that? I'm not going up there in a f-ing wheelchair. I've seen Phil Collins perform recently, and he's got virtually the same problems as me. He gets up there in a wheelchair! But I couldn't do that."

Ozzy said that a final performance would give him a chance to say goodbye and express his gratitude to fans.

"For whatever reason, that's my goal to work to. To do those shows. If it's at Ozzfest or somewhere, or even a f-ing gig at the Roundhouse," he says. "If I can't continue doing shows on a regular basis, I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say, 'Hi guys, thanks so much for my life.' That's what I'm working towards, and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I'll die a happy man."

'This Is Spinal Tap' Sequel To Feature Paul McCartney, Elton John & Garth Brooks

'This Is Spinal Tap' Sequel To Feature Paul McCartney, Elton John & Garth Brooks

A sequel to This Is Spinal Tap is set to feature appearances by Paul McCartney, Elton John and Garth Brooks.

Director Rob Reiner has confirmed that the shooting for a sequel to This Is Spinal Tap will begin next year.

"We're making a sequel," Reiner told Richard Herring on an episode of his "RHLSTP" podcast. "We're gonna start shooting at the end of February. And everybody's back. And Paul McCartney is joining us, and Elton John, and a few other surprises. Garth Brooks."

This Is Spinal Tap was released in 1984. The film stars Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer as members of the fictional heavy metal band Spinal Tap, who are characterized as "one of England's loudest bands."

In May 2022, Reiner announced that he is working on a sequel to the film, which will include him returning to play filmmaker Martin "Marty" DiBergi, and McKean, Shearer, and Guest as the members of Spinal Tap.

"When it was announced that Spinal Tap would reunite for one final concert, Marty DiBergi saw this as a chance to make things right with the band who viewed This Is Spinal Tap as a hatchet job," Reiner said in a statement announcing the sequel back in May 2022. "So he left his position as visiting adjunct teacher's assistant at the Ed Wood School of Cinematic Arts in pursuit of film history."

Cher Earns No. 1 On Billboard Songs Chart For Seventh Straight Decade

Cher has earned a new No. 1 song on a Billboard songs chart for the seventh decade in a raw.

"DJ Play a Christmas Song," the lead single from her latest album, Christmas, topped the December 2-dated Dance/Electronic Song Sales survey.

"DJ Play a Christmas Song" was digitally released on October 6. Cher performed the song during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 23, and on German TV show "Wetten Daas" two days later.

Christmas is the 27th studio album by the American singer, actress and television personality, and her first album of original material in ten years.

With this, Cher becomes the only singer/band other than the Rolling Stones with at least one new No. 1 on a Billboard songs chart in each of the seven decades since the 1960s.

Cher scored her first Billboard songs chart topper with "I Got You Babe," when she was part of Sonny & Cher, the pop and entertainment duo made up of her and husband Sonny Bono. The song hit No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 chart in August 1965.

Pogues Frontman Shane MacGowan Dead At 65

Shane MacGowan, the lead singer of Celtic punk band The Pogues, has died at 65.

Announcing the news of his demise on social media, MacGowan's wife Victoria Mary Clarke said, "Shane... has gone to be with Jesus and Mary and his beautiful mother Therese."

She said her husband breathed his last on Thursday after a prolonged illness.

"There's no way to describe the loss that I am feeling and the longing for just one more of his smiles that lit up my world," Clarke wrote on Instagram.

MacGowan "will always be the light that I hold before me and the measure of my dreams and the love of my life and the most beautiful soul and beautiful angel and the sun and the moon and the start and end of everything that I hold dear," she added.

MacGowan, who had struggled with drugs and alcohol, was diagnosed with viral encephalitis in 2022 and was hospitalized.

He co-founded the Anglo-Irish band blending traditional Irish folk music with punk sounds in 1982 with Peter 'Spider' Stacy, Jem Finer and James Fearnley.

"Fairytale of New York," featuring McGowan and Kirsty MacColl, is considered as The Pogues' greatest hit.

Paying tribute to MacGowan, Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said his "songs beautifully captured the Irish experience, especially the experience of being Irish abroad."

Peter Gabriel Shares Final 'i/o' Track 'Live And Let Live'

On Monday, the twelfth full moon of 2023, Peter Gabriel released the final track from his new album i/o. The song, the last to be written for the album, is titled "Live and Let Live."

In a break from previous months, all three mixes were released simultaneously, the Bright-Side Mix by Mark 'Spike' Stent, the Dark-Side Mix by Tchad Blake and the Atmos In-Side Mix by Hans-Martin Buff.

The song is accompanied by the striking 'Soundsuit' artwork of Chicago based artist Nick Cave.

Written and produced by Gabriel, "Live and Let Live" is a song about forgiveness, tolerance and optimism.

You either belong to that hurt or you free yourself and forgiveness is clearly a super effective way of freeing yourself," he said in a closing note for the album.

"Live and Let Live" features contributions from Tony Levin, David, Rhodes, Manu Katche, Brian Eno, Melanie Gabriel, John Metcalfe, Steve Gadd, Paolo Fresu, Soweto Gospel choir and the New Blood Orchestra.

I've done everything possible to get onstage and be a part of the incredible 2 1/2 hour celebration we planned but this flu has made it impossible. New Video For Jimmy Buffett's 'Like My Dog' Promotes Pet Adoption

A new music video for the late Jimmy Buffett's "Like My Dog" has been released, celebrating love for animals and promoting pet adoption.

The video features never-before-seen footage from Buffett as well as videos hashtagged #likemydog and posted on social media by his fans.

Written by Scotty Emerick and Harley Allen, "Like My Dog" was recorded by Buffett as an ode to his favorite furry friends. It is one of the tracks from his recently released final album, Equal Strain On All Parts.

On the heels of the release of his wildly successful album, Buffett was honored posthumously with a star-studded tribute at the CMA Awards.

The new video for "Like My Dog" was showcased on NBC's "Today" show and can also be viewed on Buffett's YouTube channel.

Neil Young Plays Star-Spangled Banner' On Guitar In 'Stand For Peace' Video

Neil Young recently released a new video, called "Stand for Peace," featuring his performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" on electric guitar.

The video, which was directed by Young's wife Daryl Hannah, features footage of Young performing next to an American flag and concludes with the written message "Be Brave" and "Stand For Peace."

Although Young does not make any direct reference to any particular ongoing war or political conflict, a few days earlier he had posted a statement on the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel.

Young had written, "For our many Palestinian friends and our many Jewish friends, we do need to start over in the present and release our terrible connections to the past. As bad as they are, they need to be forgotten so we can be free to move on in life together, all humanity, focused on saving our planet for future generations of all people."

David Bowie's Handwritten Lyrics Valued At Up To £100,000 At Auction

David Bowie's Handwritten Lyrics Valued At Up To £100,000 At Auction

A handwritten lyric sheet by David Bowie is set to be auctioned this week and is expected to fetch up to 100,000 pounds.

The document contains Bowie's corrections, drafts and notes for the Ziggy Stardust tracks "Rock'n'Roll Suicide" and "Suffragette City." It will be displayed at the Omega Auctions showcase sale on November 28.

The letter of provenance reads, "The hand-written notes were given to the original owner personally by David Bowie at Trident Studio, with a few other pages of original lyrics, some of which didn't survive."

"They were needed so that the music publisher and management could prepare the lyric sheet, printed on the album's inner record bag,"it adds. "At the same time, for the person collecting, David alerted them to two songs he hadn't written that he had just decided would also feature on the album (It Ain't Easy and Round and Round - the names of which he quickly added at the foot of the page on the Suffragette City side), writing next to them: 'pub (publishing) you know these songs'."

The letter of provenance also says the sheet was purchased by the current owner in the early 1980s, and loaned to the V&A in 2013 for an exhibition.

Auction manager Dan Muscatelli-Hampson said, "These are two real cult favourites in the wonderful Bowie oeuvre and 'Suffragette City' has been described as one of his very best. It's an incredible artefact to have and to hold and it is sure to excite the many millions of Bowie fans around the world - just as the Starman lyrics did."
