Authorities in the Australian state of Victoria will honor late pop star and actress Olivia Newton-John with a state memorial service.

“I’m so pleased that Olivia Newtown John’s family have accepted our offer of a State Memorial Service. We’re working with Olivia’s family on the details, but it will be more of a concert than a funeral – fitting for a Victorian who lived such a rich and generous life,” Victoria’s Premier Daniel Andrews announced on Twitter.

Andrews said he had spoken with Olivia’s niece, Tottie Goldsmith, the actor and former singer with pop group The Chantoozies, and she had accepted his offer.

Born in Britian, Olivia moved to Australia at the age of 5. Although she lived in the United States for most of her adult life, Olivia considered herself an Australian.

One of the biggest pop stars of the ’70s and “Grease” actress, Olivia died at the age of 73 on Monday, August 8.

She fought breast cancer twice before it returned in 2018.

Olivia’s funeral will be held in California, where she lived with her husband John Easterling.
