Patti Smith paid tribute to late fashion designer and punk icon Vivienne Westwood by performance her 1975 hit “Redondo Beach” during her annual birthday show at the Brooklyn Bowl in New York City.

Smith played the classic song from Horses at her final music concert of the year on Friday, December 30.

Ahead of singing, Smith said, “I’d like to do a little song remembering Vivienne Westwood.”

At the end of her performance, Smith said, “Goodbye, Vivienne.”

“Redondo Beach” was among the 19-song set list.

Jesse Paris Smith shared the stage with Patti Smith to celebrate her mother’s 76th birthday.

Westwood, who helped popularize the British punk and new wave movements with her clothing, died on December 29.
