According to the video sharing platform, the clip has averaged over 300,000 views globally per day across YouTube so far this year.

“Losing My Religion” was released as the first single from the alternative rock band’s 1991 album Out of Time.

“Losing My Religion” turned out be a hit during its release, garnering extensive airplay on radio as well as on MTV and VH1 due to its critically acclaimed music video. The song became R.E.M.’s highest-charting hit in the United States, reaching No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

At the 1992 Grammy Awards, “Losing My Religion” won two awards: Best Short Form Music Video and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

The music video for “Losing My Religion” was directed by Tarsem Singh. The video was nominated in nine categories at the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards.
